This master bathroom started as a dark and dated bathroom from the early 2000s. Then, our bathroom contractors in McLean, VA, transformed it into a serene, spa-inspired retreat for two! Our clients were ready for a complete overhaul of their master bathroom when they reached out. Thus, that was when this master bath remodel McLean project was born.
Our client’s original bathroom was small, outdated, and cluttered. So, the bathroom walls and floor were covered with 8×8 dark tiles and a narrow double vanity with cherry wood cabinets. Plus, the large standalone bathtub was unused, with limited counter space and limited lighting that cramped the entire bathroom.
Their biggest request: “We need more space.”
To adhere to our client’s request, we reimagined everything! We started by relocating the entrance door and opening up the layout for a spacious walk-in shower and a larger vanity. The new design now enhances the entry flow from the vanity to the shower. Altogether, our client’s master bathroom became airy, functional, and well-lit.

Our contractors in McLean, VA, completely transformed our client’s small bathroom. So, here is a detailed description of what our team did:
- Removed the large standalone bathtub to open up the room.
- Relocated the entrance door to the far end of the bathroom for better flow and symmetry.
- Installed an L-shaped double vanity with semi-custom Wolf cabinets in a slim shaker door style (hazelnut wood stain). The new configuration includes two 30″ sink bases, an 18″ drawer base, and a tall 18″ linen cabinet for added storage.
- Added MSI Cashmere Taj quartz countertops with undermount sinks to maximize usable surface area.
Master Bath Remodel – Cabinetry, Finishes & Vanity
Our McLean, VA bathroom contractors installed a semi-custom Wolf cabinetry setup in a warm hazelnut stain. Plus, the cabinetry was designed in an L-shape for maximum storage. Then, we replaced the countertop and vanity with MSI Cashmere Taj quartz countertops with undermounted sinks.
As for finishes, our remodelers installed modern black faucets that provide both beauty and practicality. Plus, the bathroom walls and floors were retiled with MSI Praia Crema 12×24 porcelain tile, which also extends into the shower walls. So, we curated a cohesive style that elevates the bathroom’s entire aesthetic. Then, inside the shower, the same tiles were installed, but with a herringbone pattern on the floor for subtle movement and texture.
Lastly, a custom frameless glass enclosure and a 12” matte black rain shower head were installed. So, the new bathroom now reflects the luxury spa experience our clients needed with a wall-mounted smart toilet.
